Process Analytical Technologies (PAT)

As part of the efforts to update and improve current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) regulations worldwide, there has been a substantial effort to implement process analytical technologies, also known as PAT. The goal of PAT is to obtain better process understanding through real-time monitoring of each unit operation, coupled to statistical process control.  Due to our expertise in assay development and spectroscopy, we can assist in developing PAT methods for all types of manufacturing operations. Legacy has experience with the use of PAT methods, such as near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, UV-visible spectroscopy and mass spectrometry for monitoring product quality throughout production. In addition, we offer a three-day short course on PAT through the European Continuing Education College.
